Athene IT Professional Development Manager in West Des Moines, Iowa

Purpose:

The IT Professional Development Manager will direct and manage the design, development and maintenance of Athene's IT career development program and training solutions to meet the strategic and operational needs of the IT business unit, including research, analysis, facilitation, implementation and measuring effectiveness.

Accountabilities:

  • Partners with Human Resources (HR) to leverage leadership development, on boarding and other non-technical training for IT professional development.

  • Provides leadership and assimilation of effective IT communications.

  • Translates the organization and IT department’s strategic goals into professional and organizational development with associated training objectives.

  • Achieves a positive culture measured by IT team/department feedback.

  • Aligns and cascades SMART goals that reinforce the principles of accountability, outcomes and effectiveness.

  • Analyzes turnover to identify and implement retention actions to reach departmental goals of staff retention with the right skills.

  • Coordinates the development and maintenance of skills inventories to assess and forecast skill gaps and to assist remediation.

  • Demonstrates an influential relationship measured by feedback from IT management.

  • Increases the skill maturity according to plan and metrics defined within Communities of Practice.

  • Leads and partners with IT management to identify comprehensive training/coaching curriculum by Community of Practice for various roles (manages structured learning programs, demonstrates continuous improvement, and evaluates outcomes).

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Information Technology required and Financial Services preferred.

  • 3+ years’ experience of IT personnel management including multi-disciplined IT teams/roles.

  • Experience guiding development and career planning in an IT organization required.

  • Experience with Learning Management System (LMS) or equivalent tools.

  • Demonstrated experience in training program design, career development, organizational design, delivery, management, marketing and communication.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of large-scale internal IT systems or related technologies.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Proven ability to write and deliver quality, effective communications materials.

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and work experience.
