Athene Financial Sales Specialist in West Des Moines, Iowa

The Financial Sales Specialist provides telephone sales support to Agents and Distributors regarding Athene annuity products, utilizing a variety of tools, including product illustration software and the company intranet site.


  • Reinforces and further cultivates relationships with existing and new agents in a multi-faceted approach to support sales growth.

  • Runs illustrations.

  • Takes inbound calls from 800 line.

  • Transfers/Funnels calls to appropriate individual/department as appropriate (New Business, In-Force Customer Service, Producer Services, etc.).

  • Achieves 100% illustration accuracy.

  • Completes fulfillment requests for marketing materials.

  • Funnels leads to Internal Wholesalers.

  • Helps with Product/Sales related questions.

  • Hands off Service Issues/Exception Requests to Service Liaison.

  • Meets or exceeds 2-hour turnaround on all product illustration requests.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 1+ year of prior financial services industry sales experience.

  • Must have or obtain FINRA Licensing (Series 6) within 6 months of employment.

  • PC experience to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Successful completion of Industry Continuing Education (such as LIMRA / LOMA) courses preferred.

  • Experience with annuity products preferred. Experience with illustration software systems is strongly preferred.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively using verbal and written methods, while explaining products, tools, concepts and processes to a diverse customer base.

  • High school degree required.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
