The Consumer Lending team partners with other businesses across Wells Fargo to create and deliver transformational experiences that help customers gain access to credit. The vision for the Consumer Lending business is to leverage technology and data to make it simple for customers to easily access credit when and where they need it. Consumer Lending serves customers across the country through our distribution network of more than 5,300 retail banking branches and Home Lending offices, as well as online and digital channels.

This position will be responsible for driving critical change in the Consumer Lending Control Data Strategy program.

The Primary responsibilities include:

  • Partners with senior managers to deliver risk analytics and reporting to executive management, committees, and Board of Directors and may assists in development of actionable insights.

  • Internal collaboration with business for oversight of risk management.

  • Execute and implement business control priorities, data governance and strategy.

  • Independently author programs to efficiently extract data from source systems using a variety of tools such as SQL, SAS and macros.

  • Work in close partnership with Wells Fargo Technology and Data Management and Insights on the design, development and implementation of analytical tools, infrastructure, and data environment enhancements required to support robust supervision, oversight and surveillance capabilities that are scalable across Consumer Lending.

  • Works independently, may lead project/virtual teams and may mentor but does not manage other team members.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in risk management or 7+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in risk management

Desired Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis

  • Experience developing partnerships and collaborating with other business and functional areas

  • Ability to motivate groups and to quickly gain the trust/confidence of executive leaders

Other Desired Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in data querying using SQL

  • Experience with Teradata or other relational database environments, such as Oracle or IBM.

  • Demonstrated ability to execute effectively in a matrixed organization, develop partnerships with many business and functional areas.

  • Prior experience in business-oriented analysis, metrics design, data visualization techniques and database querying using large data sets sourced from a variety of data sources.

  • Prior experience with the operation of analytical processes and process design / improvement.

  • Prior experience with Risk/Compliance Analytics and/or AML.

  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.

  • Good analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
