Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo's risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline's execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk.
Wells Fargo Auto Originations Credit Risk Strategy team is looking for a Consumer Credit Officer to support Acquisitions Credit Risk Strategy. Primary responsibility will be to lead the initiative to incorporate new analytical data (Alternate Credit Data, Enhanced Bureau Data, and internal Wells Fargo Data) in our credit decision process. This will not only involve providing insights and recommendations through analytics to incorporate in credit strategies, but also manage the process to onboard new vendors, manage the new data attributes and collaborate with internal business partners for implementation of these strategies.
Partner with Supply Chain Management, Legal, and other internal business partners to develop requirements for 3rd party engagements and manage the end to end process both for new relationship and existing ongoing relationships.
Own the data attributes that are used in Originations risk models and strategies, which will include Bureau attributes, Custom attributes and any new attributes based on enhanced bureau data or alternate credit data.
Perform complex and in-depth analysis to gain insight from data mining and other statistical/quantitative processes.
Recommend strategy/process/policy improvements based on analysis, regulatory requirements, and partner input
Identify and execute against strategic opportunities to support the ongoing refinement of credit policy/strategy and business operational efficiency
Collaborate with internal business partners on implementation of the policies, process improvements and strategies.
Effectively communicate analysis results and strategy recommendations to business partners and senior management

- 7+ years of experience in risk role
A Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
4+ years of SQL or SAS experience
Other Desired Qualifications
Experience building partnerships, collaborating with and influencing colleagues and partners
5+ years credit risk or analytics experience in a financial service company
Experience developing new credit decisioning strategies utilizing advanced analytics
Strong problem solving skills
Strong MS Office Suite proficiency
Experience working with large datasets across multiple data sources
Clear verbal and written communication
Ability to effectively manage and deliver high quality results against multiple priorities and tight timelines
