Job Description:

The Additive Manufacturing Project Engineer works closely with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, & Operations team(s) to ensure successful planning & execution of development projects utilizing additive manufacturing processes. This position is the local engineering focal for all PWES additive manufacturing product development.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Support design & manufacturing teams with communication & coordination of feasibility assessment, project scope & cost estimates

  • Manage process development & hardware delivery schedules & budget for assigned projects.

  • Coordinate release of internal work orders for development & production hardware & ensure accurate labor & machine time allocations

  • Document & communicate lessons learned to key stakeholders during development process

  • Coordinate logistics/shipping of hardware & transfer of technical data

  • Manage compliance matrices for customer specifications

  • Support program reviews with internal & external customers

  • Support TRL & MRL assessments including identifying & actively working gap closures to meet project milestones

  • Work closely with maintenance & manufacturing engineers to troubleshoot process and/or quality issues to identify root cause and implement corrective action(s) & drive RAIL items to closure

  • Support operations & engineering teams with PBF-L machine & material changeovers, in-process inspection, post processing of hardware, etc. to meet delivery commitments

  • Actively participates & contributes to developing manufacturing plans for new product introduction.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR

  • Advance degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills along with the ability to work in a team environment

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Must be a US Person

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, welding, materials or equivalent

  • Experience with metal additive manufacturing processes including laser powder bed fusion.

  • Working knowledge of non-destructive testing including X-ray, CT Scanning, et

  • Working knowledge of destructive testing techniques including tensile, metallography, etc.

  • 5+ years manufacturing experience within Aerospace Industry
