Waverly Health Center Education Assistant 1.0FTE 1st shift in Waverly, Iowa
FTE: 1.0FTE, Hours are 0730-4 Monday thru Friday. No weekends or holidays.
Provides general office support for the Education Department, including word processing, answering routine phone and in person inquiries, supporting the learning management system, and providing general clerical support.
Education, Experience, and Training
Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
Associate’s Degree in Administrative field or comparable experience preferred.
Must have sufficient secretarial experience to assume responsibility without direct supervision.
Must have exceptional customer service skills and the ability to track and respond to end-user concerns and questions in a timely manner.
Must have knowledge of medical terminology or possess a desire to learn.
Must be proficient in keyboarding and business English.
Ability to learn and navigate computer systems including the online training modules, the employee timesheet and the performance appraisal system. Job specific systems are also required.
At least two years of experience with PowerPoint, one year using Macromedia Contribute (or other basic web design platform), and one year experience working with Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Fireworks, or other standard image editor strongly preferred. Also, experience in Flash development desirable.
Must be able to read, speak, and write fluent English.
a. Sitting – Approximately 50% of shift.
b. Standing – Approximately 25% of shift.
c. Walking – Approximately 25% of shift.
d. Lifting – Infrequent. Approximately 35 pounds. Must use, and require staff to use, when in hospital and/or pre-hospital settings, proper body mechanics and ergonomics and, as applicable, lifting/moving devices.
e. Twisting – Infrequent.
f. Bending – Moderate.
g. Squat/Kneel – Approximately 25% of shift.
