Function: Product Engineering

Title: Part-Time Student-Product Engineering-Waterloo IA - 69775

The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule.

Your Responsibilities

  • Investigate failed engine harnesses, determine root cause, and document findings

  • Assist or lead efforts to request failed harnesses to be returned based on warranty claim trends

  • Lead efforts to code warranty claims according to failure mode and responsibility

  • Assist or lead efforts to identify warranty trends and request CAR's to address root cause accordingly

What It Takes

  • Proficient using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to learn new computer systems

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Ability to interpret data and self-direct accordingly

  • Must be a full-time student at a university or college local to the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area

  • If currently attending a community college, must be planning to pursue a 4-year degree

  • Must be available to work a minimum of 12 months

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above

  • 16 - 20 hours/week during the academic year

  • 35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester

A Strong Candidate Will Also Have

  • An interest in working with engine assemblies/components, specifically harnesses and electrical components

  • Majoring in Engineering or Engineering Technology

  • Electrical or mechanical systems knowledge

  • VBA macro programming in Excel

  • Working knowledge of ProE/Creo or other solid modeling programs

  • Working knowledge of databases
