Aerotek Laborer in Waterloo, Iowa

Description:

One of the largest mechanical subcontractors in the U.S that is continuing to grow at a rapid pace. With solar farms there are two portions needing to get done. The mechanical portion (building the modules on the farm) and the electrical portion (wiring the modules together and getting them plugged into the substation to generate power). You will be strictly handling the mechanical portion of the job.

Job Responsibilities:

-Will be moving materials around site

-Carrying racking and panels

-Ability to carry 50lbs+ repetitively

-Use small hand tools to assemble racking system. Tools such as sockets and wrenches will be used.

-Assembled racking system for the solar panels will be attached to the foundation piers using bolts tightened with wrenches/sockets to desired torque requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Must Have:

-Previous experience in outside construction or labor intensive work history (brick laying, tree trimming, concrete, snow removal, roofing, commercial construction, residential demolition)

  • can fluently work with basic hand and power tools

  • strong communication skills

Nice to Have:

  • Previous solar construction experience

  • Experience using a torque wrench would be a plus.
