Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Urbandale, Iowa

Description

Blue chip client and bona fide industry leader is adding to their team! In this Derivative Accounting Manager role you will have an opportunity to put your technical accounting skills to work. You will:

-Develop and maintain policies, procedures, manuals and documentation to comply with accounting and other authoritative guidance on accounting for derivatives andindustry related transactions. This includes documenting and determining accounting treatment of derivative third party contracts and analysis of the financial impact. Oversees the Sarbanes-Oxley trading cycle control revisions.

-Responsible for all accounting functions related to the retail services, market operations and trading areas. This includes monthly estimates, accruals, journal entries, reconciliations and ensuring accurate designation. Provides support to the trading area, retail services and related business unit leaders.

-Facilitate internal and external audit requests and inquiries related to the retail services division, market operations and hedging.

-Plan and outline direction in response to initiatives by the leadership team. This includes evaluation of systems, procedures, controls and processes that may require enhancement.

-Compile, prepare and analyze information for corporate and regulatory reports/filings.

-Lead forecasting and budgeting processes related to the retail services division, market operations and hedging.

In order to be considered for this role you must have a BA in Accounting and 5+ years related experience, which must include some experience with derivatives.

Requirements - Creative problem solver who anticipates risks and opportunities and maintains a vision for continuous improvement

  • 5+ years of recent relevant financial experience

  • Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable

  • Derivative Accounting experience required

  • Derivative Accounting experience desired

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer service mindset

  • Solid technology and analytical abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience

  • Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
