SUMMARY:

This is a driver position responsible for the transport and delivery of freight on time in a professional manner by driving diesel-powered tractor/trailer combinations short and long distances, while complying with Department of Transportation rules and regulations, maintaining a safe work environment, and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Must adhere to all guidelines in the Tyson Fleet Safety Manual and follow all DOT driver regulations. This position requires the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, sit for long period of time, pass annual hearing test, corrected 20/20 vision and possess free use of all limbs or equivalent use of prosthesis. This position will be exposed on a routine basis to adverse temperatures ranging from hot/warm 80-100F degrees, damp and dusty; to cold 0-40 F degrees, damp and wet. Applicant must be able close and seal doors properly on trailers in these conditions.

Requirements:

Shag Driver must be at least 23 years of age with no DUI/DWI conviction in the past eight (8) years in a personal vehicle and never in a commercial motor vehicle and be trained on the proper operation of “Shag Trucks”. Must have and be able to maintain a valid driver’s license in Iowa and have a good driving record in accordance with Tyson Fleet Safety Manual. All job offers are based on the conditions that the candidate can pass a urinalysis screening, which is part of a post-offer health assessment and physical.
