Tyson Foods MST/Preblend/Boxing Supervisor - 1st Shift in Storm Lake, Iowa
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the following: 1) create a culture of safety and team work throughout the facility and ensure compliance with GMP, USDA standards, Environmental Control Act and OSHA standards. 2) Lead health, safety, and environmental processes for assigned areas. 3) Responsible for compliance with Tyson's policies and procedures, Global Business Standards, plant rules and all regulatory agencies. 4) Support the operation in ways to improve efficiencies and to help reduce overall costs. 5) Lead and develop a high performing work organization utilizing Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement concepts that maximize employee teamwork, contributions, suggestions and decisions. 6) Facilitate problem solving and develop action plans to address performance issues and achieve key performance indicator goals. 7) Supervise MST/Preblend/Boxing 1st Shift department. The applicant must have strong organizational skills, leadershipskills, time management skills and effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of management. Computer Skills: computer knowledge/experience in Microsoft Office required. The applicant must maintain 98% attendance, adhere to all safety policies and perform other duties as necessary and as assigned by the production manager. REQUREMENTS: Education: High School Diploma required, prefer Bachelor's degree in Business, Food or Animal Science Experience: 1 to3 years manufacturing experience required. Supervisory experience in a USDA/FDA regulated food manufacturing environment preferred. Additional: Some weekend work required. Candidate must be willing to submit to a drug screen and post offerhealth assessment.
