Job Title: FT Environmental Support Staff : Transportation driver & minor maintenance

Pay: $17.00

Hours: Morning shift, and may have occasional start times of 6am.Normal start time is 8:00am. FT is 30+ hrs

On-call every other week

Job Description: Holy Spirit Retirement Home is looking for a dual role employee to breech a gap in needs. Their main obligation will be a qualified driver to take our residents to and from their appointments. The employee will be ushering residents who may be in a wheelchair in and out of the handicap accessible van. They will need to make sure that the wheelchairs are properly secured. This employee will be accepting full responsibility for the physical welfare of residents while they are utilizing our van services.

We are also asking that when they are in-between transporting resident, they assist the primary maintenance or housekeeping department with small tasks that still may need accomplished. This will vary from minor repairs such as spackling holes in a wall, touching up paint in a vacant room, replacing light bulbs, assisting with resident room moves, etc.

Requirements:

Per the Department of Transportation, transport drivers must be 21+ years old. This candidate must have a clean driving record, and pass a background check. This candidate needs to be incredibly reliable, motivated, self-starter who can work independently with little to no supervision.

We also require all our employees to have a Mandatory Reporter Certificate for adult abuse. This is free to obtain at the https://dhs.iowa.gov/ website. This is a prerequisite and employees cannot start work until this is completed.

· All Holy Spirit Retirement Home employees must pass a physical, drug test, TB test, and thorough background check before employment may begin.
