WANTED: Training Specialist for Mid-Sioux Opportunity, Inc. Child Care Resource and Referral. 40 hours per week. Eligible for benefits including IPERS. Position is based in Remsen. Responsibilities include: coordinating child care provider training opportunities; writing and approving training curriculum and completing reports. A Bacheloris degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education with Early Childhood Endorsement and formal education in adult learning or two years of experience in delivering successful adult education is required. Reliable transportation, proof of insurance and a valid driveris license is necessary.TRAINING SPECIALISTDepartment: Child Care Resource and ReferralReports to: Child Care Resource and Referral DirectorPrimary Work Location: RemsenEligible for Benefits: YesWork Hours: 40 hours per week Hours are subject to change based on financial and program requirements.Qualifications:i Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education with Early Childhood Endorsement preferred.i Formal education in adult learning or two years experience in delivering successful adult education preferred.Job Duties and Responsibilities:i Implement CCRandR Training Policies and Procedures to assure statewide consistency.i Coordinate training opportunities through collaboration with training entities and independent trainers. Attend planning meetings for area symposiums.i Complete an annual training needs assessment and training plan; adapt to changes as they occur.i Schedule trainings according to the training plan. This includes: contracting with instructors, securing locations and ensuring instructors are able to gain access.i Review and monitor training budget.i Plan and coordinate symposiums funded by Early Childhood Iowa contracts.i Plan and coordinate with statewide Training Specialist team to offer instructor professional development.i Coordinate with Professional Development Specialist to update and create current and new curriculum as needed.i Collaborate with Child Care Consultant Supervisors assuring evidence-based coaching aligns with training curriculum.i Approve instructor and curriculum applications that meet CCRandR Training Policy and Procedures.i Maintain instructor files.i Implement training contracts.i Ensure instructors understand internal fiscal and agency policies and procedures.i Provide instructors with all materials needed to instruct the class. This includes participant manuals, curriculum kits, audio visual equipment, and basic supplies.i Assemble and update participant manuals and curriculum kits as needed.i Assist Child Care Consultants and providers with developing individualized professional development plans.i Create a training marketing plan as needed.i Recruit child care professionals to participate in trainings and monitor training registrations.i Manage participant enrollments and attendance in DHS I-Power online database.i Print and mail certificates for all trainings.i Assist with webinar support as needed.i Complete and submit data for reports on a timely basis.i Maintain a positive customer service relationship with providers, staff and outside agencies.i Attend agency, statewide and community meetings as requested.i Provide or participate in presentations and/or fairs to educate community leaders/organizations on CCRandR services and child care issues targeting families and child care providers.i Other duties as assigned.
