The Greenbrier Companies, Inc. Production Scheduler/Capacity Planner in Red Oak, Iowa

The Production Scheduler and Capacity Planner will review orders against customer core pools and current demand to determine if customers have cores on had to support orders and if orders can be filled based on backlog, production capacity and customer allotments. Position will then generate a Production Plan based on this information and a daily and weekly Production Schedule based on this Plan.

Duties and Responsibilities *The Production Scheduler and Capacity Planner will compare customer orders against cores on hand and determine if sufficient cores are available to fill orders or search out other options. *Works closely with Customer Service Manager to ensure equality of orders is spread among customers based on customer projected usage and committed allocation. *Will work closely with the Production Manager to determine lead time based on production capacity and backlog in order to develop the Production Plan. *Will work closely with Materials Manager and front line leaders in determining any potential purchased materials issues that may impact Production Plans or Schedules. This information will be used in determining the daily and weekly Production Schedule. *Attend the daily production meetings and offers suggestions to ensure customer requirements are met. *Assists with monthly core pool reporting and quarterly core cycle counts. *Creates daily/weekly production schedule in conjunction with Production Manager. *Maintains a professional and courteous attitude with all employees regardless of response. *Applies strong communication skills: Effectively listens, probes situations, analyzes needs, recommends or resolves issues. *Produces schedules and plans in conjunction with DAX MRP system. *Generates Production Orders within DAX per production plan. *Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED required. Associates Degree or equivalent preferred. Two to five years of experience in scheduling/planning or equivalent is preferred.

Working Conditions Environment: The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, dry/arid and dusty conditions. Employees are required to use personal protective equipment as environmental conditions dictate.
