1 - First Shift
The Product Marketing Specialist manages the published product information for assigned segment business unit as well as the development and implementation of sales promotions, advertising campaigns, merchandising plans, product launches, and public relations communications plans. This role researches, proposes, negotiates and implements new or revised systems of advertising or communications to dealers, regional entities and end-users for the assigned area. This position develops creative and compelling content to be utilized in collateral materials, advertising, press releases, job stories, etc., following internal guidelines and processes and through the support of vendor relationships. This role supports the product marketing team with event planning and logistics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Demonstrate the Vermeer characteristics of caring culture, demonstrating agility, customer focused, and stewardship and model the associated behaviors.
Maintain accurate product identity information for assigned segment business unit (SBU) on all published channels, both digital and print. This includes managing equipment specifications, feature/benefit information, literature, photo/video collection, etc.
Coordinate marketing aspects of global product launches to meet segment and market needs while supporting corporate branding strategy. Work in tandem with other marketing groups to incorporate customer and market insights in positioning product launches. Liaison with advertising agencies, translation company and segment team to manage timeline to serve the needs of the segment, dealers, regional entities and affiliates. Coordinate with dealer marketing-communications team to incorporate Vermeer dealer network in regional marketing activities to support new product introductions.
Coordinate miscellaneous promotional activities and materials for the assigned SBU, including working with supporting agencies to manage social media channels, content creation, media relations, creative needs, tradeshows, special events, etc.
Assist in the creation of marketing plans and budget management for the SBU.
Serve as the point person for the tradeshow support vendor, and provide event planning support and guidance to the product marketing team.
Education and/or Experience
4-year college degree with a major in Marketing, Business and/or Communications.
A minimum of 3 years' experience in marketing or related field; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Other Skills and Abilities
Ability to create and update a marketing plan.
Ability to identify the appropriate tactics to increase product and/or company visibility.
Ability to provide informative and professional assistance when working with the public/customers and co-workers and maintain positive interpersonal relationships which encourage openness.
Ability to write and edit market collateral.
Ability to produce accurate, professional and error-free documents in a timely manner.
Demonstration of good oral communication skills.
Knowledge of Vermeer equipment/product/markets and competitive landscape preferred.
Up to 20% domestic and/or international travel by car or plane may be required.
