Whoever you are and where you are in your career, Vermeer helps you be Equipped to Do MoreTM.Job SummaryThe Channel Advancement Field Manager targets their efforts on new dealer prospecting as well as provides leadership and guidance to Vermeer dealers in the form of onboarding, system training, organizational support, and business development to improve the success of new Vermeer dealers worldwide. This position facilitates working through the Forage sales department to address the needs of new dealers and dealers undergoing ownership change with great emphasis on company integration. This role works with the Forage sales department to identify, prospect and up new dealers in our open markets.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.1. Lead the onboarding of new dealers, including business systems training, inventory set up and control. Guide new dealers and provide direction to help build relationships, understand the processes and follow up in a timely manner to provide support for successful long term relationships.2. Be the main conduit for all questions and support from new dealerships for the first year.3. Identify and develop non-traditional dealers while prospecting for new dealers in open markets.Education and/or Experience- 4-year college degree in Business Management, Finance, or related field.- Minimum of 7 years' experience working closely with dealers or business operations experience; and/or combination of education and experience is required.- Experience in manufacturing or distribution is preferred.Other Skills and Abilities- Increased knowledge in the area(s) of heavy agricultural equipment staying abreast of the latest trends, customer needs and competitor information in agricultural equipment, e.g., tractor, hay equipment, etc.- Knowledge of basic mechanics and technology as it relates to heavy agriculture equipment; ability to operate agricultural equipment.- Effective management skills of dealers' operations including ability to attain sales goals, inventory management, and attainment of acceptable dealers' performance metrics.- Selling skills and the ability to meet sales goals.- General business knowledge including finance, personnel, customer relations, accounting, computer skills and marketing; solid understanding of financial reporting tools, e.g., financial statements, pricing sheets, budgets, etc.- Provision of informative and professional assistance when working with the public/customers and co-workers; demonstration of a good attitude.- Maintenance of positive interpersonal relationships that encourage openness with dealers, customers and peers; ability to handle complaints.- Demonstration of excellent written and verbal communication skills.- Demonstration of strong organizational skills.- Ability to work with dealers in the attainment of company's business goals.- Ability to develop interpersonal relationships with co-workers, staff, clients and the community to meet or exceed expectations.TravelUp to 50% domestic and/or international travel by car or plane may be required.*LI-DD1All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability or veteran status.
