1 - First Shift

Are you the type of person who enjoys partnering with customers to maximize machine performance in their specific application? In this role you will engage with dealers and customers on projects and applications where Vermeer equipment is used We’re looking for a person who is willing to travel around the globe to support construction project planning, operator training, as well as engaging with product management and engineering on the technical aspects of our technologies.

What You’ll Do

  1. Plan field testing and execute testing during the development process.

  2. Provide support to the direct development on all department projects. Create technical documents to train managers and team members.

  3. Create a return on investment (ROI) model for individual products that includes initial cost, maintenance, consumable costs, interest depreciation, and insurance. Compare ROI of company models to other competitive products and process costs.

  4. Compose and/or evaluate charts which show performance / efficiency of Vermeer products in multiple conditions.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Geospatial, Civil, Construction, or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Minimum three years previous job experience and/or training in Engineering and performance/efficiency analysis; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge of the applicable industries, including the equipment and processes used, the operational planning required, the overall management of the business, and an understanding of factors that create higher productivity and profitability key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Knowledge of specific industry, i.e. recycling, forestry, biomass, mining, pipeline, utility, etc., equipment selection, and associated cutting tools and patterns.

  • Knowledge in the areas of engineering, hydrostatic and control systems, and diesel engines.

  • Ability to provide informative and professional assistance when working with customers and co-workers.

  • Multi-lingual proficiency is preferred (key languages: French, Spanish, Portuguese).

    Travel

  • Significant travel is expected of this position.

Work Location

HYBRID: Some of a team member’s day-to-day work may be best done at a location other than a Vermeer campus. Discuss specific arrangements with your manager.
