Function: Product Engineering

Title: Test Engineer - 75466

Your Responsibilities

As a Test Engineer for John Deere Ottumwa Works located in Ottumwa, Iowa, you will create and conduct tests to validate new designs for components and sub-systems. In addition, you will:

  • Perform test data analysis to determine whether acceptance criteria are met

  • Design test fixtures for component and sub-system validation

  • Facilitate resolution of technical problems by assisting project teams in the determination and validation of root causes and verification of solutions

What Skills You Need

  • Basic understanding of data acquisition systems and their application

  • 1 or more years of engineering experience relating to mechanical / electrical / hydraulic systems

  • 1 or more years of experience with 3D CAD modeling, such as Creo

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with technicians and engineers

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%, primarily domestic

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience using measurement devices such as linear potentiometers, accelerometers, strain gauges, load cells, and transducers

  • Experience using signal processing and durability analysis tools such as nCode Glyphworks

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the operation or function of hay and forage equipment

  • Knowledge and understanding of statistical methodology

  • Knowledge of test data analysis for fatigue/life prediction

Education

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • BS in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering
