Job Summary
This position successfully functions as a Pharmacy Technician under the rules of the Iowa Board of Pharmacy. This position is responsible for assisting with all aspects of inpatient and outpatient medication orders for the hospital and associated clinics. This position pays close attention to medication supplies ensuing their availability to maximize the improvement of patient care, customer satisfaction, and team member performance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrates a commitment to the development and achievement of common goals within the department and hospital system
Encourages and provides constructive feedback to identify opportunities for improvement within the department
Integrates and demonstrates Standards of Behavior and Expectations for Personal and Service Excellence to guide behaviors, while adhering to the policies and procedures of Clarke County Hospital
Inspects pharmaceutical supplies, storage, and utilization on assigned patient care areas
Maintains a neat, clean, orderly, and secure department and work area
Ensures the timely and proper filing of all records
Demonstrates the ability to consistently meet the department work schedule
Acts as a receptionist greets visitors and answers phone
Participate on hospital committees
Demonstrates a commitment to the improvement of patient care, customer satisfaction, and team member performance
Position will be PRN: Shifts may vary. Shifts may include days, evenings, weekends, & holidays.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Requirements

Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Hospital pharmacy experience
Experience in a healthcare facility
Experience compounding sterile products
Experience complying with USP 797 and USP 800 rules
License(s)/Certification(s):
Registration as a pharmacy technician with the State of Iowa within one month of hiring
Certification as Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) within one year of hiring
Valid driver?s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
Certified as a Pharmacy Technician at hire
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to learn basic and complex computer skills
Ability to read, write and speak fluent English
Other:
Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position
