Mitchell County Regional Health PRN EMS Driver 1236 in Osage, Iowa

per hour | Until Filled (CST) | Osage, IA, USA | Hourly | EMS | PRN, as needed

Shifts: Hours and shifts will vary. On call and 12-hour shifts, 7 days a week on an as needed basis based on the needs of MCRHC.

JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible to the hospital EMS Director and the Hospital Assistant Administrator. The position functions so as to support the policies and procedures of the Ambulance Dept. and the Mitchell Co. Regional Health Center. This position maintains the highest possible standards in order to provide the highest level of care and treatment to persons utilizing the ambulance service.

Pay-Based on Experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSA. Be prepared to respond rapidly and safely to any emergency in response area. B. Scene control, assessment, and gaining access to injured patients. (i.e. disentanglement)C. Provides competent patient care to the above-indicated patient populations. D. Transport and treatment of patients established in protocols per EMS guidelines.E. Documents and communicates pertinent patient information in a timely and accurate manner.F. Supports and abides by all PHO departmental and safety policies and procedures.G. Acts in a professional manner reflecting the mission, philosophy and values of Mitchell County Regional Health Center and Mercy Health Network.H. Performs other responsibilities as requested by EMS Director and/or Administrative Team.I. Demonstrates Service Excellence and Behavior Standards Expectations in all interactions with all parties.J. Regular and reliable attendance is expected.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONSA. Clean up and preparation of ambulance for the next call. B. Attends departmental/PHO inservices and meetings as required or requested.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONSA. Education: 1. EMT-B Certificate preferred2. Current BLS CertificateB. Experience1. Previous healthcare or Ambulance experience preferred. C. Special Skills & Aptitudes1. If over 21 years of age; current state Driver's License in good standing and insurable 2. If over 21 years of age; satisfactory driving record in accordance with the MCEMS Driving Policy.3. Excellent communication and customer service skills.4. Ability to work cooperatively with other employees and medical agencies to provide the highest level of patient care.5. Ability to read and interpret all required documents and write required reports and correspondence. 6. Ensure that all required Certifications are current and remain current.7. Attend all MCEMS required OSHA training, annual training, and all mandatory Company updates.8. Complete the training in the allotted time the Company sets.9. Maintain knowledge about job and medical field.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTSA. Able to squat lift and transfer over 60 lb. B..
