The University of Nebraska at Omaha is seeking aSoftware EngineerCollege of Information Science and TechnologyThis position will work on software engineering projects in the Center for Management of Information Technology (CMIT) and its attic group. This role will collaboratively work within the team on analysis, design, planning, coding, and implementing a variety of community outreach software projects. This role is agile and will also include assisting with developing proposals for services with community agencies; managing server environments and related accounts for testing, staging, and deployment of software projects; and supervising/training/mentoring student workers involved in the projects. This position requires strong technical skills coupled with a minimum of 2 years of work experience in the following areas: software analysis and design, competency with technologies such as Javascript, HTML/CSS, PHP, Python, Django, Vue JS, Cloud services, and .NET. Customer-facing communication, agile methods, virtual server environments, and an understanding of cybersecurity challenges are also important additional skills. Complementary skills such as working with student teams, ability to delegate and supervise projects, ability to develop and write short proposals and reports, an interest and acumen to learn new technologies, and teach them to students is critical in this role. The software engineer will report to the Executive Director of CMIT and the current Associate Dean of the College of Information Science and Technology.Required Qualifications:BS in Computer Science or BS in Management information Systems (Information Systems) or equivalent.2-3 years technical experience; strong ability and interest to develop software using the tools specified in the general description.Salary Information: Commensurate with ExperienceFor more information please contact unoemployment@unomaha.eduTo apply, please visit: application review will begin on 11/19/2020.
