MARION PROCESS SOLUTIONS Fabrication Specialist in MARION, Iowa

The Fabrication Specialist plays a crucial role in creating a competitive advantage for our customers through production of world class equipment, meeting allotted time constraints, and adhering to stringent quality and delivery requirements of MPS and our customers. This position reports to the Operations Director.Key Responsibilities and Essential FunctionsiAll teammates are accountable for their ownership of safety and to encourage safety program compliance with all coworkers.iFabrication and assembly of all equipment from blueprints ensuring fit and finish while meeting agreed upon production time tables. iAble to layout, weld, grind, polish and form materials with the available equipment. iKnowledgeable in SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW welding practices with the aptitude to determine if weld quality meets established standards of the organization. iWorks with the engineering group to identify potential design issues in the fabrication review phase of projects. Makes recommendations based on experience and best practices to ensure the best product design possible.iAttend project start up and close out meetings to review overall hour performance and contribute to best practices for future projects.iReview project status daily and modifies build schedule based on material availability, fabrication progress and unforeseen issues. Notifies team coach when a project is projecting past its scheduled due date or over estimated production hours.iSet the example for your team, work hard and consistently stay on task while minimizing distractions, have a plan for the day, week and overall project.iMaintains a positive team environment, holds teammates accountable to perform at optimal levels with minimized distractions.iIdentify and rectify issues as they arise.
