Regional Medical Center Physical Therapist in Manchester, Iowa

The Physical Therapist provides direct physical therapy services. The Physical Therapist performs clinical functions (outpatient, inpatient, and home care) and some supervision in accordance with hospital and departmental standards and policies.


  • Graduate of a CAPTE accredited Physical Therapy program

  • Meets professional qualifications required by and is licensed by the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners

  • CPR certified


  • Interprets referrals

  • Performs initial, progress and discharge assessments

  • Identifies, determines, and modifies patient goals and plan of care

  • Develops individualized home exercise programs

  • Educates patients and family

  • Adheres to PT/PTA and unlicensed personnel, patient care supervision requirements delineated in the Iowa Code Administrative Rules on Professional Licensure. Meets standards of professional performance required by employer, government agencies, APTA, Critical Access

  • Ensures patient and employee safety through the use of proper body mechanics, lifting techniques, and following safety policies

  • Completes billing information timely, accurately, and completely

  • Drafts correspondence as needed

  • Possesses excellent verbal, written, and listening skills in communication with physicians, nurses, and other professionals in matters related to patient care

  • Possesses an acceptable knowledge of professional terms and concepts

  • Completes documentation accurately, completely, and timely

  • Documentation meets professional, legal, and regulatory standards

  • Ensures patients, family, visitors, client, and physician satisfaction with services provided

  • Applies sound professional judgment when providing services to patients

  • Enhances competency through continuing education

  • Serves as a positive role model for peers and subordinates

  • Attends department meetings

  • Performs public relations functions as requested

  • Assists in developing annual goals for self and department

  • Is knowledgeable of and follows the APTA Code of Ethics
