Insight Global Data Steward / Requirements Analyst - Local to IA in Johnston, Iowa

Job Description

As a Data Steward within the Data Governance group, focusing on the Global Seeds Operations Business function, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity, quality, and usability of seed-related data assets. Based in Johnston, Iowa, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain data governance standards, policies, and processes that support the organization's strategic objectives and drive operational excellence.

* Data Governance Framework Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement a robust data governance framework tailored to the needs of the Global Seeds Operations Business function, encompassing data quality, metadata management, master data management (MDM), and data privacy.

* Data Quality Management: Establish data quality standards, metrics, and monitoring processes to assess and improve the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of seed-related data across operational systems and processes.

* Metadata Management: Develop and maintain metadata repositories and data dictionaries to catalog seed data assets, including product attributes, classifications, and relationships, ensuring data lineage, traceability, and discoverability.

* Data Privacy and Security: Implement data privacy and security controls to protect sensitive seed data from unauthorized access, disclosure, and misuse, in compliance with privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and company policies.

* Data Governance Compliance: Monitor data governance compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and industry standards, conduct periodic audits and assessments, and collaborate with stakeholders to remediate issues and mitigate risks.

* Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with GSO data domain teams, plus collaborate with R&D, IT and Commercial to understand data requirements, align data governance initiatives with business priorities, and promote data stewardship best practices.

* Change Management and Training: Develop and deliver training programs, communication materials, and change management strategies to promote data governance awareness, adoption, and adherence among employees, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making and accountability.

Skills and Requirements

o 3+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles.

o Hands-on experience in implementing data governance initiatives and tools.

o Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks and best practices.

o Proficiency in data quality assessment, metadata management, data privacy, and security principles and practices.

o Analytical problem-solver, with a keen attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards identifying and resolving data governance issues and challenges.

o Excellent communicator/collaborator, able to to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization and drive consensus on data governance decisions and priorities. * Experience in agriculture or manufacturing sector / Familiarity with seed industry terminology, global supply chain operations, and manufacturing processes. null
