1st Shift: 6:45am- 6:30pm

What you will do:

  • Manage the operation of several computer systems by means of on-line terminals or multiple system display consoles.

  • Monitor systems performance by means of online terminals or multiple system display consoles and identifies potential system malfunctions then initiates corrective action to ensure the integrity of the production files, outputs, and system availability. Seeks to minimize system downtime for our customers by resolving or notifying them about problems in a timely manner.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of computer operating procedures and operating standards and provides any necessary training to other operations staff. Recognizes and recommends improvements to Computer Operations Manager on any potential problem areas.

  • Responds to any peripheral equipment requests or needs to ensure accurate and effective job stream flow and schedule maintenance.

  • Maintain production schedules on ITS computer systems and initiate corrective actions in the maintenance of these schedules.

  • Monitor data communication networks. Maintains a ready awareness of the status of all circuits and data communications equipment. Ability to assist Data Communications staff in testing circuits and equipment and act on problems, following problem escalation procedures.

  • Monitor on-line systems and take appropriate action when problems occur at ITS, DPCs, foreign switches, or terminals.

  • Grow knowledge of all facets of the ITS operations through attendance at classes established by ITS.

  • Always maintain all computer operations facilities in a clean and presentable condition.

  • Handle and maintain all data in a secure and confidential manner.

  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance at such level as is determined in the employer’s sole discretion.

    What we are looking for:

  • High School education or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of one year of computer experience preferred.

  • Ability to identify and respond to hardware and software operations problems.

  • Ability to interpret system outputs, written materials, and educational courses to improve the Operations Department.

  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience, training and/or skills.

  • Ability to perform precise computer input and maintain paperwork, access, and retrieval for prolonged periods.

  • Ability to stand for up to 30 minutes or longer while preparing for the transportation of system backup tape files into provided tape cases to offsite location via couriers.

  • Ability to interpret complex technical written or verbal material and respond with analysis and recommended customer solutions/recommendations.

  • Ability to communicate via the telephone, in person and through correspondence with customers, support staff and other employees.

  • Ability to transport computers, printers, and other objects weighing up to 50 pounds to new destinations.

  • Ability to review documentation.

  • Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines driven by a strategic marketing plan and culture that continually seeks to evolve and grow.

  • Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines in continuous improvement culture.

  • Ability to think independently and provide self-direction, solve various problems, and make informed rational decisions.

  • Must have excellent conflict resolution skills and the ability to lead and participate as a team leader or team member in a team's conflict resolution and consensus building process striving to maintain positive team morale and cohesion.

  • Ability to work in an environment where constructive feedback is encouraged.

    Starting annual salary from $43,000 to $56,000*

    *Actual compensation will be based upon factors such as geographic location, experience, education, and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
