Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences invites applications from innovative and visionary psychological scientists and neuroscientists who are committed to the research, mentoring, and teaching missions of our department. The successful applicant will have a productive, visible, and well-funded research program and a clear vision for achieving even greater future success. We are also interested in candidates who will build interdisciplinary connections with the

Iowa Neuroscience Institute or other entities across campus. The position is at the rank of full professor and is open to candidates using experimental (human or non-human animal), theoretical, clinical, or computational approaches to address problems in any area within the field. This position includes a generous startup package and a named chair or professorship. Review of applications begins September 25, 2023, and continues on a rolling basis until the position is filled. The position begins as early as August 2024.

Behavioral-Biomedical Interface Training Program, also supported by NIH, creates unique opportunities for integrative and cross-disciplinary research. The DeLTA Center brings together researchers interested in all aspects of learning and development. There are also growing groups of

computational neuroscientists and

psychiatrists across campus.

There are extensive opportunities for collaboration with researchers in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the Carver College of Medicine, the College of Engineering, the College of Education, and the College of Public Health. Department faculty have ongoing collaborations with colleagues in such departments as Neuroscience and Pharmacology, Psychiatry, Biology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Radiology, Computer Science, Health and Human Physiology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Public Health, and Otolaryngology. The university also supports a variety of institutes, centers, and facilities, including the

Institute for Clinical and Translational Science, the

Magnetic Resonance Research Facility (which houses research-dedicated 3T and 7T scanners), the

Center for Neurodegeneration, the

Central Microscopy Research Facility, the

Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center, the

Injury Prevention Research Center, and the

Iowa Institute of Human Genetics.
