Hourly Athletic Facilities Maintenance Parks Division Parks and Recreation Department Applications will be accepted throughout the season in the event of additional staffing needs Visit www.icgov.org/ jobs to apply online Wage: $15.00 per hour Full-time seasonal daytime, evening and weekend hours or variable daytime, evening and weekend hours up to 25 hours per week Start and end dates are negotiable within March 1st - December 31st season Seasonal full-time positions are limited to a 5-month duration Job summary: Under immediate supervision, responsible for maintaining and preparing soccer fields and baseball/ softball diamonds for practices and league play, including field dressing, lining and general grooming. May assist with raking and operation of leaf vacuum equipment for removal of leaves for curbside pickup. May assist with winter snow removal operations. Conducts self in a manner which promotes and supports diversity and inclusivity in the workplace and community. Performs other duties and operates other equipment as required. Minimum qualifications: Some maintenance experience desired. Familiarity with soccer and baseball/ softball desired. Ability to perform physically demanding and repetitive work under all weather conditions. Ability to operate trucks and equipment essential for daily assignments. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to positively interact with the public, coworkers and staff. Valid driver s license with a satisfactory driving record required with the exception of candidates under the age of 18 years of age. Must be 18 years of age per Iowa Code 92.8 if required to drive City vehicles. Must pass criminal background check.
