Knowledge of the safe use of chemical cleaning agents and possible hazards relating to environmental sanitation. 5.Ability to communicate effectively with others and follow oral and written instructions.Duties:Position Summary:Under direct supervision from the Hancher Custodial Supervisor, this position performs a variety of custodial tasks in a high profile, multi-purpose performing arts center. Standards of cleaning will be completed at the highest level to ensure Hancher Auditorium is recognized as a first class venue by its guests. The work schedule will vary and be dependent upon the building event schedule which will include nights, weekends, and holidays.CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1.Performs cleaning in all public lobbies, restrooms, non-public dressing rooms, offices, and public seating areas.2.Maintains floor surfaces that include terrazzo, carpet, VCT, and polished and sealed concrete surfaces utilizing the appropriate methods that include but are not limited to; vacuuming, shampooing, sweeping, mopping, stripping, scrubbing, waxing, and buffing.3.Cleans, sanitizes, and polishes all restroom fixtures, partitions, mirrors, and counter surfaces.4.Cleans audience seating areas including aisles, rows, and under and around seats. Vacuums seat and chair upholstery and removes stains, gum, etc. as needed from all surfaces.5.Cleans and washes all interior and exterior glass surfaces as appropriate. The use of a ladder and/or man-lift up to 12 feet in height may be required.6.Cleans ceiling and wall surfaces as needed.
