Kelly Services Maintenance Technician in Garner, Iowa
Perform all work duties and responsibilities to maintain the operations of the facilities in compliance with all mandated State and Federal EHS and FDA requirements, along with company policy.
Performs maintenance and repair of automated plant production systems to ensure continuous production.
Performs and documents preventive maintenance on all plant systems using the plant Computerized Maitenance Management System (CMMS).
Assists Maintenance Manager in the project planning and installation of equipment/systems using the plant CMMS.
Performs maintenance of the physical plant systems and structures.
Communicates with production employees and management regarding maintenance issues.
Responsibilities include the following. Other job related duties as assigned.
Receives instructions from Maintenance Manager to determine work priorities.
Perform maintenance and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
Maintains building and ventilation equipment, performs minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical/electronics (within NEC rules), and other related maintenance activities.
Performs duties with plant equipment maintenance and calibration program in accordance with the required specifications and standards.
Requests needed tools, equipment, and supplies required for maintenance.
Notifies Maintenance Manager concerning need for repairs to plant equipment and facilities.
Performs maintenance activities in accordance with product safety, personal safety and housekeeping requirements and maintains a clean and organized work station.
Adheres to attendance and punctuality standards.
Follows through on assigned tasks, works independently, completes work on time.
Follows instructions and management direction, displays a cooperative and positive behavior.
Tactful and courteous, maintains good working relationship with coworkers.
Support and contribute to the plant quality systems.
Utilizes the plant CMMS to document all work requests and work completed
Quality System Responsibilities:
Implements or observes the requirements of the following Quality Management System to ensure conformance to the required ISO 9000:2008, FCI RUP, HACCP, AFIA Safe Feed/Safe Food and FAMI-QS standards.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Familiarity with typical plant production equipment.
Basic knowledge of electrical systems, pump systems, dry solid handling equipment, and basic facility operating systems (compressors, hot water heaters, HVAC, etc).
Familiarity with ISO 9000 Quality Systems helpful.
Education and/or Experience:
Associate's degree (A.A.) from two-year College or technical school or equivalent experience.
2 yrs. experience in plant operations and/or maintenance.
Basic computer skills (PC) including use of CMMS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, work instructions, procedures, policies and blueprints/schematics.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence (on computer).
Ability to effectively communicate routine maintenance requirements to Plant Operators and Management.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb and crawl.
