Stellar Industries Inc Design Engineering Project Manager in Garner, Iowa

Plans and oversees projects relating to the development of new products or technologies to ensure they are completed on time and within scope, while providing timely follow up and communication to key stakeholders.

  • Coordinate activities regarding technical development, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems.

  • Managing the resources required to execute a project.

  • Compile data and prepare reports related to research and testing of new and existing products.

  • Assist in identifying and protecting intellectual property in development.

  • Continuously promotes and fosters a culture of working safety.

  • Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as reasonably assigned and required

  • Providing Design guidance as requested or required towards resolving difficult problems.

  • Promote a productive and non-disruptive work ethic within the company.

Tasks:

  • Assign duties or responsibilities to project personnel.

  • Communicate with key stakeholders to determine project requirements and objectives.

  • Confer with project personnel to identify and resolve problems.

  • Create project status presentations for delivery to customers or project personnel.

  • Develop or update project plans including information such as objectives, technologies, schedules, funding, and staffing.

  • Assist as needed with technical aspects of design, such as (3D modeling, Finite Element Analysis, Determination of Materials and working with internal and external partners).

Preferred Experience:

  • Three to five years of proven experience in the mechanical design and project management disciplines relating to new product development.

  • ERP applications experience.

  • Familiar with the automotive industry and truck up fitting.

  • AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience.

  • Hydraulic, electrical, and automotive experience.

  • PMP certification or willingness to pursue

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • Operations Analysis and Critical Thinking.

  • Complex problem solving with emphasis on active learning.

  • Excel in interpersonal and written communication and organizational skills.

  • Must have initiative, be willing to work independently and as part of a team, possess a strong desire to learn, and enjoy computing and technical design, and be practical and creative.

  • Must be willing to adhere to Company safety requirements.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional lifting may be needed, of items not to exceed 50 lbs.

  • Employee may be required to work indoors in a shop environment and also outside in all weather conditions.

Additional Requirements:

  • Company sponsored continuing education may be required.

  • Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

  • Valid drivers license.
