Avera is currently seeking Registered Nurses (RN) looking to deliver the best possible nursing care in Avera’s patient-focused settings.

Position Highlights:

    Job Summary

  • Provides professional nursing care for patients.

  • The Same Day Surgery RN Provides professional nursing care for surgical patients, maintaining an aseptic environment. Provides professional care of same-day medical patients.

    Education and/or Experience

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Nursing degree.

  • Basic Life Support is required within six months of employment.

  • Completion of the Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse courses for Iowa Mandatory Reporters within 90 days of employment and every three years thereafter.

  • Additional requirements to be obtained within six months of employment per department are as follows:

  • Med/Surg – Advanced Life Support

  • Special Care Unit – Advanced Life Support

  • Emergency Room – Advanced Life Support, PALS, NRP, TNCC

  • Resource Nurse – Advanced Life Support, PALS, NRP, plus 1-2 years M/S nursing experience.

  • PALS education is required within one year of employment.

  • (Oncology Nurses Society Certification for Chemotherapy trained staff).

  • Previous experience in a health care setting.

  • Equivalent Combination of Education and Experience

    Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the state of Iowa, or Multi-state licensure is required.

    Work Schedule

  • Day/Evening shift; 72 hours every 2 weeks

  • Every 3rd weekend

  • Every other holiday

  • Occasional call time

  • 12-hour shifts

    Pay

    The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

  • $29.50 - $44.25 per hour
