Position Purpose & Summary

The Utilities Team Leader hasoverall management responsibilities of all aspects of operations, assetmanagement, environmental compliance, and safety for the Utilities department inEddyville, Iowa. This position will overseeWater, Waste Water, and Boiler operations. Position provides vision and guidance to ensure all personnel operatethe facility to required standards in the areas of safety, food safety,environment, quality, customer service, operational excellence, engagement,continuous improvement and reliability. The candidate selected for this position is amember of the Eddyville Site Leadership team and will lead and assist inoverall site leadership.

Principal Accountabilities

30% Develop and implement strategies for operations and technicaloptimization of processes and safety. Collaborate with peers at other facilities to establish bestpractices. This involves working withManufacturing Technology and various Centers of Expertise (COE) to achievecontinuous improvement goals and plant stability.

30% Establish, implement and maintain area capital and operatingbudgets. Develop deep understanding ofcosts and activities in department to meet budget , improve reliability, andmaintain an audit ready infrastructure.

20% Development and supervision of direct and indirectreports. Work with peers at location inestablishing consistent personnel policies. Lead department/area in a manner that leads to an engaged and safeenvironment.

10% Oversee a team in charge of product quality and regulations toensure environmental compliance of water, waste water, and boiler operations.

10% Create and execute site business strategy and provideleadership across Eddyville facility via working with other Operations TeamLeaders. Perform miscellaneous duties asassigned.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree OR minimum 10 years technical experience with a high school diploma.

  • Minimum 5 years of combined experience between operations management and project management.

  • Working knowledge of Food Safety, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental regulations.

  • Demonstrated team building, leadership and conflict resolution skills.

  • Knowledgeable of basic HR practices, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Guiding Principles, etc.

  • Ability to effectively communicate (written, verbal, presentation skills) at multiple levels of Cargill and customer organizations.

  • Strong technical experience and/or knowledge.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement in operations, reliability, and costs

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally.

  • Demonstrated effective systematic approach to problem solving.

  • Ability to organize, coordinate and accomplish multiple tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

  • Experience in Waste Water operations

  • Experience with Boiler operations

  • Experience with Water operations

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Proactive Maintenance Model

  • Green belt experience or black belt certification

  • Knowledge of Human Organizational Performance and Safety
