Your Responsibilities

As an Electrical Design Engineer - Deere Excavators (DEX) for JD Dubuque Works located in Dubuque, IA , you will...

  • Lead the development of electrical components and harnesses on the Deere Excavator portfolio.

  • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues on prototype machines and current production units.

  • Work with global development teams (USA, India, China, and Brazil) to launch new vehicle programs into production.

  • Work with test engineers, supply management, and quality to deliver optimized solutions.

  • Provide the JD Kernersville factory critical project support during new model durability builds and start of production.

  • Provide mentorship to other electrical team members on the global development teams.

  • Create and maintain product design guidelines for Deere Excavators.

What Skills You Need

  • 3 or more years of professional product development engineering experience, including experiences in every phase of the design process.

  • Ability to understand and create electrical schematics with knowledge of key electrical concepts and design principles.

  • Prior experiences identifying emerging issues, determining root cause, and driving corrective action.

  • Prior experience working in a global based environment, collaborating on the resolution of a technical issue.

  • Ability to create 3D electrical harness geometry.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, up to 25%.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience with modeling tools for harness routing and drawing creation, especially Creo or Capital Harness.

  • Experience working with suppliers of electrical components or harnesses.

  • Experience in diagnosing and solving field issues.

  • Experience in excavator design or product verification & validation.

  • Experience in the design and development of electrical systems for off road equipment.

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, mechanical engineering, or computer science.
