Job Summary:

Drake University is searching for applicants who are interested in directing the Drake University Marching Band, Bulldog Brass Pep Band, and conducting the symphonic band. These ensembles include undergraduate music majors, minors, and non-major participants. Additional responsibilities include communication with the Director of Bands, effective communication with students, and grade assignments.

This is a two-semester appointment (Academic Year 2024-25) to cover for a faculty member who will be on sabbatical.

The pay for this appointment will be $5400 per semester with a work expectation of approximately 4.5 hours per week for two 14-week semesters, plus several Saturday hours during Marching Band season.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree or commensurate public school band directing experience.
