We are seeking a Senior Cloud Network Engineer with experience delivering virtualized and software-defined networking capabilities through automation frameworks. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of layer 2/layer 3 network protocols combined with both virtualization and software development expertise. This position requires a breadth of expertise across three domains: networking, virtualization and automation via Infrastructure-as-Code.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Senior Cloud Network Engineer will be responsible for automating delivery of virtualized network functions across both private and public cloud environments. They will be responsible for proposing and documenting virtualized/software-defined network designs, automating those designs with Infrastructure-as-Code/best practice software development techniques and finally equipping operational teams to successfully consume said automation.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of systems analysis experience, systems programming experience or combination of both

  • 7+ years of Network experience

  • 5+ years of virtualization technologies experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in managing IT infrastructure for a medium-to-large organization

  • Relationship management experience with organizational partners and customers

  • 5+ years of experience with Agile, Kanban, or Lean methodology

  • Practical knowledge of ITIL application processes and implementation

  • 3+ years of experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Ansible, Terraform or CloudFormation

  • 5+ years of VMware NSX-[MH/V/T] experience

  • Experience facilitating and delivering training or other related facilitation experience such as group meetings or presentations

  • Extensive technical writing skills

  • 3+ years of source or version control tools experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of automation and engineering release development

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong collaboration and partnering skills

Other Desired Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software development experience, preferably within the Linux/Unix environment

  • 3+ years of experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Ansible, Terraform or CloudFormation

  • Networking experience with one or a combination of the following cloud service providers: AWS, GCP or Azure

  • Strong understanding of layer 2 and layer 3 network protocols.

  • 5+ years of VMware vSphere experience

  • 5+ years of VMware NSX-[MH/V/T] experience

  • Familiarity with GitOps

  • Experience engineering networking features for private or public cloud environments

  • Stays up to date with DevOps technologies.

  • Ability to work effectively in a virtual environment where key team members and partners are in various time zones and locations
