Iowa Employer Service Worker Summer Help in DES MOINES, Iowa

Under the general direction of the Supervisor of Field Service, serves as second member on a 2-person team and assists with installing, removing and maintaining meters and meter reading systems. Hours for this opening are 7:30am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday each week. There is 1 position available, lasting for 16 weeks. EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Assists with installing, removing, repairing, and maintaining water meters, and repairing metering reading systems.Assists with field tests for 1 i" and larger water meters, including performing manual labor duties such as moving large hoses, operating valves, etc.Assists with checking plumbing for leaks and low pressure in meter pits.Assists with maintaining records, and helps prepares reports as required.Adheres to all workplace and safety laws, regulations, standards and practices and contributes to a safe work culture.Performs other duties of similar nature. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Licenses/Certifications: A valid Iowa driver's license with a good driving record.Frequently climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, crawls, walks, pushes, pulls, fingers, grasps, repetitive motion, stands, squats, twists, bends over, reaches, and lifts above and below shoulders.Frequently exerts 100 ft. /pounds or more while twisting, pulling and bending.Occasionally handles up to 100 pounds and lifts 50 poundWorks in confined spaces with a minimum opening of 18 inches
