Principal Senior Accountant RIS- Accounting in Des Moines, Iowa

As a Senior Accountant, you'll lead a group of individuals to ensure high quality, efficient, and timely service is delivered, and customer expectations are met. You'll play a key to role to ensure daily functions such as balancing, system reconciliations, identification of incoming funds, and transaction research are completed.
Here are a few examples of the types of things you'll do:
Lead and manage staff of eight to ten employees including hiring, training, and career development. Provide compensation administration, rewards and recognition, performance management, coaching and mentoring.
Oversee team workflow, projects and communication.
Assist in the development and implementation of financial controls. Monitor control activities, escalate issues as necessary and drive remediation plans.
Interact with internal and external auditors to ensure requested data needs are met.
Participate in the development of business unit and corporate administrative and financial systems.
Collaborate with business partners to ensure customer and business objects
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience required
6 + years of relevant experience required.
2 + years of leadership experience within an accounting role; formally or informally.
Attention to detail and experience making activities more efficient.
General accounting research.
Working independently on complex technical accounting or cross business unit projects.
Ability to set priorities, multi-task and manage deadlines.
Must have solid understanding of accounting concepts.
Must have good customer service, organizational and communication skills.
