The sales strategy team is currently seeking talent for a medium market ($20M-200M) sales support/strategy role. This is a strategic resource providing thought capital, best practices and a preparation process to our sales and service partners to develop, refine and deliver consistent, yet customized messaging promoting Principal during sales presentations and associated consultant/advisor interactions. This role is responsible for retirement plan finalist presentation strategy/consulting for prospects, clients and advisors, in partnership with Sales and Service Representatives, RIS Distribution, RIS and Corporate partners. Develop, recommend and execute sales plans. You'll facilitate, coordinate and guide all stakeholders from finalist presentation thru sold or retained.

Here are few examples of the kinds of things you’ll do when you join our team:

  • Provide an emphasis on opportunities with multiple products from our TRS platform which includes: Defined Contribution, Defined Benefit, ESOP and Non-qualified plans. Interact directly with external clients (prospective, existing, and consultants/advisors) throughout the sales process.

  • Gather feedback from the finalist presentation and strategically manage the follow-up process with sales or service partner.

  • Gather and share competitive intelligence with our corporate and field partners. Provide insight on how we would strategically position Principal against our competitors.

  • Provide product and presentation skills training to our corporate and field partners. Act as the liaison between sales and our corporate partners to identify and train/prepare individual presenters.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in accounting, finance, economics or business required, plus a minimum of 7+ years of work experience in related experience.

  • Expert technical, statutory and regulatory knowledge of qualified and nonqualified plan designs and the company's and competition's retirement products and services.

  • Advanced analytical, problem solving, negotiation, verbal and written communication (including excellent presentation skills), and math skills

Successful candidate will have the following:

  • High level of creativity and resourcefulness.

  • Series 6 registration is required within 5 months of employment.
