Our North America Procurement team is seeking a speacialist to join their group. In this role, you will be responsibile for a variety of procurement responsibilities including monitoring raw matieral inventory levels and ensuring their availaibility. This vital position is reponsible for preparing purchase orders, ensuring transporation and delivery along with purchasing activity and cost reports.

Analyze raw material demands and production plan to assure the supply smoothly and stock properly.
Identify and recommend cost improvement areas, including negotiating pricing with suppliers.
Identify new suppliers, adhering to Kemin’s supplier approval process.
Purchase raw materials and other expense items, ensuring arrival on time and best cost.
Building and maintaining supplier relationships.
Assist with training of purchasing employees
Partner with Research & Development teams, evaluating material quality and supplier performance
Work closely with accounts payable on invoicing discrepancies.
Adhere to all applicable policies and procedures
Review purchase requests against Kemin’s purchasing policy
Recommend and revise purchasing SOPs.
Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study (i.e. Chemistry, Business) and 2+ years experience preferred.
Manufacturing Scheduling or Operations experience highly desired
Professional Purchasing Certification desired
Travel up to 20% may be required
Strong written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated use of negotiation skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects in a team environment.
Understanding of inventory control systems, computer systems, as well as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Strong decision-making abilities
Understanding of material safety requirements
ISO and GMP experience helpful
