The Pharmacy Account Director is responsible for providing strategic account management, planning for major accounts and serves as a lead for assigned accounts and unit.

Primary duties may include,but are not limited to :

  • Execute strategic sales and tactical plans by consulting withkey decision makers and operational stakeholders in the region.

  • Directs and manages the administration of contractual requirements andobligations.

  • Provide ongoingsupport to regional decision makers and support PBM field sales teamduring RFP processes.

  • Supports the new and renewal implementation process for accounts toensure client retention and high levels of account satisfaction.

  • Interfaces with operations to ensure smooth delivery of services.

  • Maintains ongoing account relationships at multiple levels throughoutthe customers’ organization.

  • Makes recommendations for improvements to meet customers’ expectations.

  • Providesboth on-site and off-site customer service, which may include interpretingplan design, researching and resolving phone and written inquiries,resolving claims, benefit and enrollment issues.

  • Makesroutine account visits.

  • Becomean expert on plan contacts for the region.Collaborate and build relationships across business units, advocatefor the needs of the region

  • Contributeto regional performance goals

  • Lead efforts to bring standardizationacross accounts

  • Support the training and development ofAccount Service Coordinators

  • Developand implement communications to key stakeholders as necessary to improvemember and provider experience and reduce cost

Additional Roles and Responsibilities :

  • Supportthe development of new web content to improve the member and providerexperience

  • Become an expert on contractual requirements,beneficiary rights and standard benefits in plans throughout the region

  • Compileinformation and support pharmacy program updates to leadership, includingbut not limited to: annual planning meetings, quarterly business reviews,biweekly trend meetings

  • Perform routine benefit surveillance toassure benefits are working correcting, low claim reject volumes throughout theregion

  • Solveclaims issues and complaints with the support of Pharmacy Operations teamor Account Management team

  • Assuresuccessful implementation of programs

  • Benefitmandates

  • Programenhancements

  • Costof Care programs

  • Systemchanges

  • Assureappropriate access for health plan staff to RX tools

  • RequiresBA/BS, 3-5 years of standalone pharmacy experience selling standalonepharmacy business and/or customer relationship; or any combination ofeducation and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Requires2 years of managed care experience or PBM experience; Government businessexperience preferred.

  • Travelrequired

  • Sales license may be required.

Qualifications :

  • Mustdemonstrate proficiency inpolicy/benefit communication , ability to communicate messagespertaining to programs and systems in a way key stakeholders canunderstand.

  • Mustdemonstrate proficiency in clinical/technicalcommunication to business leaders, an ability to communicate messagespertaining to programs and systems using data and other details in a waybusiness leaders can understand.

  • Mustdemonstrate proficiency as a keyparticipant in program development , where the program seeks to improveclinical outcomes, quality, cost or other measure.

  • Must demonstrate proficiency in project management , tracking individual performanceas well as project performance

  • Must demonstrate superior organization skills , able to compile a large volume ofinformation and place in an easily understood format for others to access
