Kemin Industries IT Support Specialist in Des Moines, Iowa

Overview

Kemin is seeking an IT Support Specialist to support our employee's more complex IT needs. This role willl be responsible for providing support within PowerBI, SharePoint and ERP systems. Additionally, this role provides technical leadership to the IT team and may be called to provide commensurate level project management for assigned projects. To be successful in the role, it will be important to stay up to date with emerging technologies and to recommend business directions based on these technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to users on higher level hardware and software questions, issues and opportunities

  • Work with hardware and software vendors

  • Maintain system security within the given region

  • Troubleshoot server and networking issues

  • Contribute insight on how information technology systems work together, providing them to internal customers

  • A ssist IT management in guiding the organization’s use of technology in computers applications, communications, and other related areas as they arise.

  • Identify and make recommendations on the application of new technology.

  • Research, understand, participate and contribute to the goals and mission of the IT Department and the company as a whole .

  • Perform all responsibilities of this position while continually presenting a positive and professional example for the rest of the team and the company.

  • Set priorities for day-to-day support tasks allowing them to meet SLA targets

Qualifications

  • Education and experience requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, 3+years' experience

  • Associate degree in related field, 5+ years' experience

  • High School diploma, 7+ years' experience

  • Experience working with an ERP system is strongly preferred

  • P roficient with:

  • Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 operating systems

  • Microsoft Applications within the Office 365 suite, specifically PowerBI and SharePoint

  • P roficient with PC hardware

  • P roficient with PC imaging technologies

  • Must be able to work in a highly stressful and multi-tasked environment.

  • Candidate must be a self-starter , customer oriented, team player, have strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Work well independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to train users at different skill levels

  • E xperience with networking and connectivity

  • E xperience with active directory administration

  • E xperience with help desk ticketing software

  • E xperience with incident troubleshooting and escalation

  • P ossess effective prioritization and project management skills
