Hydro-Klean LLC Fleet Maintenance Manager in Des Moines, Iowa
Hydro-Klean is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager to be based in Des Moines, IA. The Fleet Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the service, maintenance, upkeep and DOT Compliance for the Hydro-Klean fleet for all HK locations. This position will incorporate technical, administrative and supervisory responsibilities.
Responsible for oversight of the maintenance and repair of all vehicles and equipment at all Hydro-Klean locations.
Implements and monitors a preventative maintenance program to assure cost effective maintenance is scheduled and completed.
Maintains a complete and up-to-date inventory of all maintenance records for each individual unit.
Enforces Hydro-Klean safety practices and procedures and ensures employees receive appropriate safety training.
Supervises mechanic(s); trains, evaluates and assists with discipline.
Assists in the development of the R&M budget to include a review of past year expenses; coordinates with management on all fleet service purchases, including parts, tools and supplies.
Ensures that all vehicles and equipment purchased are licensed and registered as required by State/DOT laws.
Weld; replaces and repairs parts; repairs electrical systems; performs tune ups and engine overhauls along with trouble shooting techniques.
Possess an in-depth knowledge of large truck diesel motors, transmissions, brake and hydraulic systems.
Examines reports for accuracy on each vehicle and piece of equipment that is repaired; writes reports on vehicles and equipment repaired.
Keeps maintenance and repair records; performs preventative maintenance on all vehicles and orders repair parts.
Checks repair work performed in shop for completeness. This includes physical inspections and road tests before vehicle/equipment is put back into service.
Communicates effectively with Logistics and Operations to ensure repairs and maintenance are completed on a timely and efficient basis.
Performs other related duties as required.
Five (5) or more years of experience as a Mechanic.
Knowledge of DOT laws and regulations.
Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about facilities.
Regularly performs tasks requiring climbing, crawling, crouching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and gripping.
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Work is performed in mostly an industrial setting with some office work.
Frequent exposure to industrial environments involving heights, confined spaces, hazardous equipment, noise, dust, chemicals, odors, and fumes.
