Banking, Lending and Trust (BL&T)

Banking, Lending, & Trust (BL&T) is a client-centric, channel-agnostic center of expertise designed to:

The Position

This role will lead and manage the portfolio of Enterprise programs that BL&T is responsible for implementing and executing on an ongoing basis inclusive of BCP, Risk and Control Self Assessments, Recovery and Resolution Planning, Business Process Management, Loudspeaker, Complaints, Customer Redress, and Policy impact assessments amongst others. This role includes designing the consistent and repeatable horizontal processes to enable BL&T to execute on Enterprise program requirements in a timely and efficient manner. This leader will serve as the primary BL&T liaison with BL&T Governance and Oversight team, WIM CAO, WIM Control Executive team, and the Enterprise program leads.

Additionally, this leader will manage the portfolio of cross-BL&T strategic programs; drive implementation planning and execution for strategic initiatives; partner with WIM CAO for program, project and change management support on more complex efforts; and manage expense initiatives in partnership with WIM CAO.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the portfolio of Enterprise programs that BL&T is responsible for implementing and executing on an ongoing basis. This person will build out, lead, execute and govern key Enterprise Programs across BL&T, inclusive of BCP, Recovery and Resolution Planning, Business Process Management, Loudspeaker, Complaints, Customer Redress, and Policy impact assessments amongst others.

  • This person will serve as the primary BL&T liaison with BL&T Governance and Oversight team, WIM CAO, WIM Control Executive team, and the Enterprise program leads.

  • The expectation is that this person will partner with other leaders within BL&T, WIM, and the Enterprise to remove roadblocks, provide resources and do whatever is needed to meet Enterprise program requirements in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Define, design, and facilitate the implementation of repeatable processes to enable BL&T to execute on Enterprise programs in an efficient manner.

  • This person will serve as a strategic thought leader aligning like processes across the Enterprise programs in a manner that helps the business manage the business, enhance the customer experience and reduce risk

  • This person will partner closely with Business Functional Managers across the BL&T businesses.

  • Define and execute executive reporting on the status and key issues with each of the Enterprise programs.

  • Partner with key COEs (Finance, HR) and BL&T Product and Innovation lead to ensure execution on organizational efficiency efforts, expense initiatives and span of control deliverables as they relate to Enterprise programs.

The Candidate

This leader will manage a team of at least 7 FTE. Leadership skills, technical knowledge, relevant experience and a proven history of building effective partnerships to achieve business outcomes will be important determining factors in selection. Successful candidates will be articulate and possess a demonstrated leadership capability and strong inter-personal effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in one or more of the following functional areas: business process, quality assurance, strategic planning, or project management

  • 8+ years of management experience

Other Desired Qualifications

  • 10+ years of banking experience

  • Knowledge and experience with one or more of the following: Business Continuity Planning, Risk and Control Self Assessments, Business Process Management, or Complaints

  • Knowledge and understanding of Wealth and Investment management business and operational capabilities

  • Ability to navigate in a matrixed organization, build relationships across varied stakeholder groups and effectively negotiate and influence across all levels in an organization

  • Experience building partnerships and consulting effectively with peers and leaders

  • Strong communicator with excellent meeting facilitation, oral and written communication skills. Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional, multi-discipline teams to plan and execute complex solutions

  • Strong organizational and plan management skills

  • Results-oriented with ability to motivate and mobilize resources to accomplish objectives

  • Experience exercising independent judgment and using creative problem-solving techniques
