Drake University's Department of Athletics is accepting applications for the Assistant Director, Game Operations. This individual will participate in scheduling Drake University sports facilities and assist in the budget preparation, reconciliation, and development of event management manuals. The Assistant Director, Game Operations will coordinate event management, social media, and web information while establishing the department's customer service program and develop training programs for internal and external staff. This individual will supervise over 40 event management staff, including students during specific sporting and facility hosted events. The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree and working knoweldge of intercollegiate sports and event management processes. All of the duties will require understanding of and compliance with the rules of the NCAA, the Missouri Valley Conference, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and/or the Pioneer Football League and Drake University.

Administrative duties including budget preparation, reconciliation and develop event management manuals. Assign staff and establish game-day protocols. Staff ensure compliance with NCAA, MVC, PFL, MAAC, and Drake University rules and regulations. Schedule Drake University sports facilities. Coordinate event management, social media and web information.

Supervise over 40 event management staff. Responsibilities of event management staff include staffing specific sporting and facility hosted events.

Lead the implementation of emergency management protocols and facility evacuation plans at events in which responsible for executing. Plan and execute security staffing at events in which responsible.

Provide on-site management for assigned sports contests including greeting teams and game officials, equipment set-up, event staff and crowd control supervision

Establish the department's customer service program and develop training programs for internal and external staff.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree in related field preferred. Demonstrated experience (minimum of two years) and working knowledge of intercollegiate sports and event management processes.
