REPORTS TO: Accounting Manager

PURPOSE: The purpose of this job is to support the accounting department by performing multiple accounting tasks including billing, certificates of insurance, journal entries, month end balancing, and Excel tasks. The position requires basic knowledge of accounting principles and accounting functions. This individual is responsible for accurate entry of items into accounting software and Timberscan.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Prepare monthly customer billings on AIA payment applications and standard invoices.

  • Manage the process of documenting and maintaining certificates of insurance.

  • Responsible for weekly review of new job setup.

  • Manage the processing of trade partners payment applications.

  • Responsible for month end balancing of accounts.

  • Oversee finance department documentation of work instructions for all levels.

  • Responsible for entry of all monthly technology charges into accounting software.

  • Calculate and create various costing spreadsheets.

  • Monitor internal controls and identify and/or address modifications where necessary.

  • Process credit card and expense reports.

  • Responsible for processing of monthly journal entries.

  • Represent the company at all times in a positive and professional manner to enhance the company s image with current and prospective clients as well as the general public.

  • Demonstrate exceptional communication and presentation skills including verbal and written.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to access and accurately input information.

  • Must have knowledge of basic accounting principles (i.e. journal entries, debits, credits, etc.) and accounting functions.

  • Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision.

  • Ability to accurately work under pressure in meeting deadlines.

  • Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Must be proficient with Excel, Word and Outlook applications.

  • Ability to multi-task and comply with all work related deadlines.

  • Ability to work daily and extended hours as necessary.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required (or equivalent experience).

    Experience: A minimum of 0-3 years accounting experience.

    Construction experience preferred.
