Aerotek 3rd Shift General Labor Production Worker in Des Moines, Iowa


Must Haves:

Lift 65 to 100 pounds of steel piping repetitively

Material handler or warehouse or machine operator or construction or remodeling experience preferred

Job Description:

This department is referred to as the oven or coating line because they receive the semi truck guard after it has been welded together and now they are starting the process of applying a rubbery durable coating for the guards finished look. If they didn't add a coating onto the guard it would just be raw steel. This is one of their competitive advantages as a company that they provide 4 different finished coating options where others don't.

A candidate would load and unload the steel guards onto a moving conveyor belt racking system. There is a hoist the candidate will operate to help lift the guard on and off the racking system, but candidates will still either lift solo or with another team member the guard. This is really repetitive.

The coating process starts with dipping the guard into a water based primer and then moves around the conveyor belt system to pre-heat the product before dipping in the coat.

After the coating has been dried in the oven candidates will take the guard off the racking and cut/shave off the excess dip that's in the areas where nuts and bolts will be inputted.

Final stage is to hang guards on metal racking that will then be transferred to final assembly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Must Haves:

Ability to lift 65 to 100 pounds of steel guards on and off racks

1 year of manufacturing experience preferred like warehouse or material handler or machine operator or cnc operator (button pusher) or laborer or construction or demolition or general production

1 year working in a production based environment preferred

Ability to read a work order form for that needs to be processed for production daily
