Job Description and Requirements-
Location: Grant Community High School
Position Title: Security Guard
Work Schedule: 179 days a year. Only days of student attendance and one Sunday a year for Graduation (Sunday May 24, 2020). Holidays, Weekends, Summer, Spring, and Winter breaks off!
Salary: Starting at $12 per hour and up (Based on experience)
Reports to: PerMar Lead Officer and Grant Head of Security

Must be 21 or older, have H.S. diploma or GED, PERC card (or the ability to obtain one through PerMar), 20 hr. certificate (or the ability to obtain one PerMar), and experience working with young adults and/or prior security experience, but will train the right candidate. Must have reliable transportation and operational phone at all times to receive school notifications. i.e. school closings and emergency notifications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitoring school hallways and grounds by cameras or rounds.
Continuously circulate the hallways, check restrooms, secure doors, ensure students are in assigned areas, and being proactive in encouraging positive student behavior.
Ensure students are complying with the Students Code of Conduct.
Holding students accountable for their actions.
Help enforce student parking regulations by reporting vehicles without permits or parked in an unauthorized area.
Respond to calls in your assigned areas.
Help students in distress by calling for assistance or by escorting student to Student Services.
Keeping logs of restroom and door checks.
Reporting/checking out any suspicious activity on school grounds.
Writing detailed reports when requested.
Working crosswalks and directing traffic.

Ability to handle and maintain confidential information of students and other sensitive District information.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
While performing the job duties, the guard will regularly walk in excess of 7 miles a day. Will have to work outside periodically during all types of weather. The noise levels will be anywhere from quit to very loud depending on the area. The guard is directly responsible for the safety and well-being of all students, including taking actions to prevent or stop disruptions or fights.
21 years of age or older
Familiarity with security equipment
Ability to handle physical workload
Strong attention to detail

Must be willing to participate in the Company's pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
