Medical Billing and Claims Specialist opportunity available with one of the Quad Cities greatest teams in healthcare! (While that may be an opinion - we know many that agree!)

The Billing and Claims Specialist is vital to the overall revenue cycle process of an organization! This position is responsible for performing collection activities from patients as well as follow-up activities with patients and third-party payers.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Manage collection efforts/calls for accounts receivable portfolio

• Research patient account disputes and billing discrepancies

• Perform account/payment reconciliations

• Work with payers (insurance companies, Medicaid, Medicare, county offices, etc) to ensure timely payment

• Claims follow up to resolve discrepancies, minimize delays and minimize patient involvement

• Identify delinquent accounts requiring external collection efforts

• Research and process denials for payment when necessary

• Research and verify all benefit and information requirements needed by insurance companies and other payers for successful continued reimbursements

• Responsible for prompt account follow-up, EOB review for appropriate payment and/or denial

• Perform analysis to monitor trends

• Prepare supporting documentation for monthly general ledger accrual entries

Requirements

Medical Billing and Claims Specialists with 1+ years of relevant medical claims processing, accounting or accounts receivable experience desired.

You will contribute to the success of this team, through the following strengths:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to relate to a diverse population of clients and handle potentially difficult situations calmly and effectively

• High level of professionalism and ethical behavior

• Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to follow-through

• Proficient with various computer technologies/programs - Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

• Experience with NextGen is a plus

• Working knowledge of industry-specific forms, coding methodologies and general medical terminology (i.e. UB-92, UB-04, HCPCS, ICD-10 codes) is valuable
