An elementary/junior high music teacher is responsible for providing students with a comprehensive music education that encompasses fundamental music concepts, instrumental skills, choral and ensemble participation, music appreciation, and performance opportunities. Additionally, they collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to support the overall development of students and enhance the school's music program.
Qualifications
:
- Valid Iowa Teaching License required
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field
- Teaching certification/licensure in music education
- Proficiency in playing one or more musical instruments (preferred but not required)
- Strong knowledge of music theory, history, and pedagogy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development:
