REGIONAL HEALTH SERVICES OF HOWARD COUNTY Physical Therapist - full time position in CRESCO, Iowa

POSITION SUMMARY:iiThe Physical Therapist will carry out an individualized program of physical therapy including assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, education, and communication to maximize a patient's progress toward achieving functional goals. The Physical Therapist will also maintain a positive working relationship with other health professionals and ancillary staff.iESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DETAILED DUTIES:Provides direct patient care, evaluates functional needs and outcomes, and consults with other specialists. Reviews patients' functional needs and adjusts care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.Designs and implements a plan of care for patients based on a thorough assessment of potential development and incorporates participation by others whenever it seems appropriate.Conducts therapy practice within defined standards of care.Directs the assistance of support staff to achieve patients' functional goals.Communicates effectively with other professional and support staff to achieve positive patient outcomes.Practices hospital and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.Documents evaluations, treatment goals, and plans. Regularly updates documentation and maintains prescriptions and signatures.Enhances professional growth and development of self and others through participation in educational programs, in-service meetings, and workshops. Keeps up to date on professional literature and education.Provides direction and leadership to staff and acts as a resource to promote physical therapy in the community.Treats clients in accordance with established treatment plan within limitations outlines in Chapter 202 of Iowa Code pertaining to the Practice of Physical Therapy.Monitors clients' response to intervention and communicates observations of clients' response to treatment to PT.Completes required documentation on clients and maintains other department records in accordance with departmental and health center policies and procedures.Provides competent client care to the above indicated client populations.Supports and abides by all hospital and departmental safety and procedural policies.Acts in a professional manner reflecting the mission, philosophy and values of RHSHC.Attends departmental in-services and meetings.Assists in department billing/statistics as directed by department director.Keeps up to date with current trends in physical therapy regarding continuing education and literature reviews.Involved in hospital-based community events that help promote the promotion of the rehabilitation department.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge and skills to care for the physical and developmental needs for all age groups that will be receiving services.Ability to remain calm in emergency or crisis situations.Graduate of an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) approved physical therapy program.Current license from the state Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.BLS (CPR) certified or obtained within 3 months of hire.For more information, or to apply now, you must go to the website below.
